Remember:  Ribbon, string and tinsel (icicles) are dangers to cats as when cats start chewing on them, the cats cannot spit them out so wind up swallowing the whole length.  This can led to a blockage or cutting of the intestines!  Keep all ribbon, string and other string like items away from cats.

Lilies are toxic to cats. Cats can die from kidney damage after eating even a small amount of a lily. Keep all lilies out the house! Don't put them on a high shelf- keep them out of the house!

Trying to edit a post
« on: April 13, 2007, 05:18:35 PM »

How does one edit a post??? It seems I edited my very first post but I'm not sure how I did it and I can't seem to do it again.  There's no "edit post" button anywhere..... there IS this little "thing" above my "IP address" but it doesn't tell me what it is.... looks like a pencil poking in a piece of paper or something... is that the edit button???  I did that and then edited my post but the edit never showed up on it.  Hm.... ok... I'm confused.

Also Margaret - do we have to always click on the "additional options" button below this box (when writing a message) in order to be notified of replies or will that be automatic with our e-mail address posted in our profiles..   :confusedquestionsmilie: :staff_hmm6ug:

EDITED to say I found the "modify" "button".  Still want to know about the "additional options" though.

Yes, Michelle, on this forum, "modify"  means the same as "edit" in the other forum.

Michelle,

Under the "Profile" section, look the menu along the left side of the page - it runs top to bottom.  Select "Notifications and e-mail" option.  Under this section, you can choose which notification options you would like to use.

Ok Jim... I went to the place you told me to go and I checked BOTH boxes to
Quote
Receive reply notification only for the first unread reply
and
Quote
Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic.

I'll have to see if that does what I want it to do.... thanks.

Is there a way to get from the first post to the last without scrolling through the whole thread?  Also, is there a page turner?  I'm probably just missing it...... :cattrance:

Maria - if you look at the top of the index on the right side, there is a "link" there to look at "Previous" or "next".  It is also on the bottom of the index just outside the box... is that what you are looking for????

It's right under or above the tabs like this:

Reply  |  Notify  |  Add poll  |  Send this topic  |  Print
                                                                    « previous next »

There's also the "Go Up" and "Go Down" words to click on to zoom from the top to the bottom of a thread - those are on the left above and below where the posts start and finish right next to the page numbers.

Yes, Maria.  Are you seeing it with the last post up at top?  If so, you can change that in your profile.

Go to your profile by clicking on the "Profile" button at the top of this page.  Then, once in your profile, look at the left side menu.  Click on the one that says, "Look and Layout Preferences".  Your profile page will change to the "Look and Layout" screen.

Look at the many options you have.  To make it so that the oldest post is listed first in thread, go to the choice, "Show most recent posts at the top."  Make sure there is NOT a check in the box next to that.  If there is, just click on it to make it go away.

There are also "go up" and "go down" buttons at the top and bottom of a thread.  If you click on them, instead of having to scroll, you will be instantly taken to the top of the thread, or to the very bottom of a thread.
