Remember:  Ribbon, string and tinsel (icicles) are dangers to cats as when cats start chewing on them, the cats cannot spit them out so wind up swallowing the whole length.  This can led to a blockage or cutting of the intestines!  Keep all ribbon, string and other string like items away from cats.

Lilies are toxic to cats. Cats can die from kidney damage after eating even a small amount of a lily. Keep all lilies out the house! Don't put them on a high shelf- keep them out of the house!

Thanks for posting this, Mark. A bit unnerving that the product was sold in December, and the salmonella contamination was only announced now, months after many cats had eaten it and probably got sick.

I was in the grocery store yesterday, shopping for hurricane stuff (lol) and someone saw me buying a Purina One bag of food.  She told me about the recall.  TOO BAD IT WAS IN DECEMBER!   :cattongue: Geeze, I've gone through about 5 bags of that already!  Thank goodness my guys were small and still eating Kitten Chow in December or I wudda been in trouble.

Thanks for the heads up.  I should visit this site more often.  Sorry!

Do note that the recall was not for regular Purina One for adult cats, but rather for Purina One Vibrant Maturity for older cats.  By now none of that recalled food would still be on store shelves anyway.
