Remember:  Ribbon, string and tinsel (icicles) are dangers to cats as when cats start chewing on them, the cats cannot spit them out so wind up swallowing the whole length.  This can led to a blockage or cutting of the intestines!  Keep all ribbon, string and other string like items away from cats.

Lilies are toxic to cats. Cats can die from kidney damage after eating even a small amount of a lily. Keep all lilies out the house! Don't put them on a high shelf- keep them out of the house!

Welcome to the new W. V. Cats Forum
« on: April 15, 2007, 04:30:08 PM »

Welcome new and current members!  :cathi:  We are glad to have you here to share information and give support about situations with cats, as well as to have fun.  :catwacko: We also have a non-cat discussion section to get to know one another more and to get help and support for non-cat situations.  We are a community of cat lovers!

The W. V. Cats forum has started at this location just the other day, but has been running since Nov. 2005 at our former location.  Our former location was http://wvcatsforum.forumup.com.

The old forum will be able to be viewed for a while, until it finally gets shut down altogether. I am copying and pasting the posts from the old location into "archives" sections here on this forum.  Unfortunately, they will all wind up as posts from me, rather than from the person who wrote them.  Still, we will be able to review previous discussions made and gain some valuable information from the archived discussions, either by using the "search" function to locate posts on a particular topic, or just by browsing the archives.

To learn more about using this forum, click on the "help" button at the top of the page in the forum menu row. If you have a problem using this forum or are not sure of something, post your question in our "Forum Help" section.

Whether you choose to register and post, or simply prefer to view posts, we are glad to have you here.  :staff_original7cx:

Hi GG,

I haven't been around much lately; your Forum looks wonderful.  I was very saddened to read about Simon.  I am truly sorry.
I hope everyone else in your family is well.
You might remember me from About Cats as BudGiz1.  You helped me tremendously with integrating my little feral kitten Gizzy (now a 15 pound monster) for which I will always be grateful.
Currently, I am integrating my 6th kitty (5 former ferals) and I know this is the place to come for advice :)

Hello Rita!  :mefipallina_hello: I do remember you.  So, now you are up cat #6!  :catlol:

Thanks for condolences about Simon.  I still can't accept that he is gone!  I feel that is just isn't "right" that he died.  But, I guess God felt otherwise.   :catsad:

Anyway, we sure will give you any help you might need with integrating your newest cat.

Hi and thanks for the welcome AnimalAngel1 (I remember you too :)

I'll have to read up on posting on this Forum as it seems a little different from the other one.  Also, I didn't get an email notification that anyone posted (but then I didn't start this thread either).  I'll have to do my homework, then I'll certainly post some pics and tell you about my zoo crew :)

GG, I know how you feel.  Gizmo has been gone over 3 years now and I still can't accept it.  The only way I try to reason with it is that I figure God needed my little furry angel more.  Hang in there, I know it hurts.

Welcome to the forum, kpalffy!

I started out as a dog person, too.  Now my golden retirever and I live with 4 cats and 2 kittens (well, I guess the kittens are officially cats now).

You will have to post some pictures of your little ones - Cecelia and your dog(s).

I see you posted in another thread - I'll try to get an response to you later today.
