Remember:  Ribbon, string and tinsel (icicles) are dangers to cats as when cats start chewing on them, the cats cannot spit them out so wind up swallowing the whole length.  This can led to a blockage or cutting of the intestines!  Keep all ribbon, string and other string like items away from cats.

Lilies are toxic to cats. Cats can die from kidney damage after eating even a small amount of a lily. Keep all lilies out the house! Don't put them on a high shelf- keep them out of the house!

Rules for Signatures and Avatars
« on: April 12, 2007, 03:09:29 AM »

Signature images may not be higher than 150 pixels, and not wider than 300 pixels. Large signatures can slow down the loading time for a page, especially for people on dialup connections. Overly wide signatures cause many people to have to scroll to the right to see the whole page.

No copyrighted images are allowed. If you are not 100% positive that an image is free to be used, don't use it.

No flashing, blinking, rotating, bouncing, rocking, or scrolling pictures or words. Scrolling through a thread with your eyes assaulted by a variety of blinking, moving things in several posts in a row, in different colors, sizes and all at different rhythms and speeds, is unpleasant for many people and detracts from the messages. And, a few people with seizure disorders can be set off into a seizure from blinking/flashing images.

Mild shimmering or very mild movement of a small image is ok. The Admin will determine what constitutes "mild".

Signature elements need to be appropriate with no sex, profanity, advertising, or violent/hate content.

Links to a person's own personal website is fine, in normal sized type font. No affiliate links are allowed.

No tickers. No neopets.

The rules for avatars are almost the same as the above, except avatars are not to be higher or wider than 100 pixels.

Any signature or avatar may be deleted by the forum administator if the signature is deemed to be inappropriate or in violation of the above.

I modified one of the signature rules.  The new wording is:

Links to a person's own personal website is fine, in normal sized type font. No affiliate links are allowed.

To clarify, links in signatures may only to be cat related, personal websites- no commercial sites, not even if they are related to cats.

New members have a 10 character limit to signatures.

After moving up in the ranks on this forum, more characters may be added to the signature.
